The technology has undoubtedly changed, but under the bonnet Revo feels like its devo kit was more a Dreamcast than part of the Sony family. Whilst the visuals splendour may cause a few hairy moments in themselves, the underlying physics are a tribute to just how smooth a ride and how graceful a powerslide the original produced. And the extra processing power has been put to excellent use with the cars leaving tyre tracks in the dirt or snow that remain in game. This has a tactical element too giving a visual clue as to the turning arch to take for a bend. And the detail even extends to the mess on the car until a giant puddle blasts it all off. Feels good to be back in the driving seat: nice and familiar but with fluffy dice and even a leopard effect seat cover as extras.
