Famicom Cart
Puzzle
Clear the blocks from the screen by shooting them to extend their length and turn them into big squares. They then disappear in time for another wave descending down the screen.
Famicom Cart
Platform
Toe tapping chip tunes do justice to the original soundtrack as players cruise the streets in Ecto 1 to scale buildings to capture the ghosts inside. A memorable boss rush run in with a naked Keymaster awaits! A very solid licensed title – a combination that not often goes together – based on the blockbusting film.
Famicom Cart
Shoot Em Up
Vertically scrolling helicopter based blaster. Think 1941 with copters for planes. Taito once again showing its expertise in crafting very competent shooters. Also known as Kyukyoku Tiger.
PS3
Action
High tension and even higher stakes calls for a cool hand from Snake when stealthily sneaking past guards and taking down CCTV cameras to free the key hostage. As ever, the twist awaits…
XBOX
Simulation
A love triangle where the hair lines are plentiful and there is plenty of J Pop songs in the air.
Nintendo DS
Simulation
Capturing Pokemon is a strangely compelling hobby and the stylus works a treat with quick squiggles used to net the many and varied Pokemon.
Nintendo Hardware
Accessory
Colourful character sticker to transform a 3DSLL complete with two removable screen seals to protect against scratches.
Gamecube
Action
Brings back warm memories of Rampage as the kaiju get to toss around boulders, buildings and fellow monsters to destroy opponents, usually the city gets flattened too.
Gamecube
RPG
Such a fabulous world lends itself to becoming a role playing game and it looks a treat in cel shaded glory as Megaman whizzes around getting into the turn based battles Genki certainly wouldn’t challenge such a well-equipped character too.
Gamecube
RPG
Every detail exudes a triple A title with lavish visuals blended with anime avatars, stirring orchestral score and high-end voice acting. The look is really stunning even today adding up to an epic opus.
Nintendo Hardware
Accessory
Very smart, officially licensed sticker to convert a 3DSLL into a Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney themed handheld. Discrete design with Japanese phrases from the game melded into the print.
PS2
Simulation
Part of the Lady genre in Japan: a romantic adventure from a girls perspective as players negotiate a love minefield not getting too distracted in the quest to find the kidnapped sister. Divine voice acting and illustration.
PS4
Platform
A game with real history, dug up and dusted off and looking very snappy in its new incarnation. The old school look is integrated into the game from time to time in a nod to its roots. The underwater, cavern and desert levels may be well known, but the execution and level design is worthy of the weighty label. The Air Zonk PC Kid tribute is a blast too.
PS4
Shooter
Shooting action but with a friendly feel, a bit like it is set in the Wild West area of Disneyland. Nice to have a more frivolous shooter amongst the many that take themselves too seriously.

Guide Book
Nintendo 3DS guide to the 4G incarnation of the epic Monster Hunter game which is certainly one which needs to give gamers extra help. Fine illustrations to highlight the art of the game itself when seen on paper.
GameBoy Color
RPG
Explore the town and cast a line or two to try and land the dream fish on endless summer days. The game features a lesser-known rumble feature to help with bite detection and, as such, the cart and box are a special design.
Sega Hardware

Designed to house the Mega Drive Mini and its cables in one, retro filled carry case to keep it dust and scratch free. Not that its likely to be put away for long…

Possibly the cutest game we have ever seen, even by Japanese standards. The kawaii animal club tour town to complete mini games to progress. Subtitled Tama chan Monogatari
GameBoy Advance

Not sure if you can have a platform game in the deep blue sea, but Shark Tale follows the plot of the film with snazzy, digitised cut-scenes as our colourful fish friend negotiates sharks and jelly fish.
