Gamecube
Action
Shows its animation studio roots in playing like an anime complete with a fine array of characters and superb specials. The settings are imaginative too with a digger surrounding the fight ring in the quarry stage and what looks like a bizarre transportation of Stonehedge to central London as players battle it out around the Houses of Parliament. Fast and furious fight action.
Gamecube
Action
A quest based adventure as the mouse everybody loves seeks the pieces of the broken mirror to get back home. The gaming world looks a treat, as if Disney would have it any other way but with the added Capcom polish it really shines with a sparkle. In game events can set off a frantic button bashing sequence to overcome the challenge. And the mini games such as flying a plane around collecting items or snowboarding down the slopes provide a good clean fun diversion.
Can be linked to the GBA through the link cable (game and cable sold separately) to change around the Magical Mirror world.
PS2
RPG
Phantasy Star Online style RPG action as Bandai’s own baby leads you by the hand to get to grips with the combat system. This bumper pack contains the first two games in the popular series.
PS2
One on One Beat Em Up
Ever thought you could better design the characters and moves in a fight title? This gives budding designers the chance to build their own fighters with mystery special moves. It also includes Enter Brains own pugilists for those happy to look for a bit of inspiration first.
PS2
Sports
Captures the dynamism of the sport with lightening claps of special moves. Yet at the same time realises that the 2D perspective is the way forward for the sport. Plays a very GG.
PS2
Action
Fast and throw away fun which is easy to pick up and play and not too much character depth are the hallmarks of the Simple series. Here players are stuck in a maze and must find keys and weapons ahead of their opponent to escape first.
PS2
Action
Stealth in the city as our raccoon like hero negotiates traps and tight platforms to beat the well planned levels.
PS2
RPG
Fantasy themed RPG with plenty of Sony spit and polish demonstrating the creators fine grasp of the hardware with a classical and pretty RPG look and resoundingly accomplished musical score.
Playstation
Simulation
Pinball sim which takes a one screen approach so its not possible to blame the scrolling for missing the ball. Plenty of bonuses keeping it down the safer far end of the table.
Playstation
One on One Beat Em Up
Sweepingly huge arenas as Koei invigorates the fight fest by making battles projectile based. Players never go split screen like DragonBall Z however: they are always on the same screen. Innovative and well executed.
Playstation
Simulation
Dating sim mixed with mech battles making for lashings of mayhem and plenty of work for the voice actors.
Playstation
Simulation
Minecraft before its time as RPG fans create their own dungeon based role playing game complete with shops and the obligatory monsters.
Playstation
Simulation
Based on the popular anime, the trio starring are in charge of protecting earth from invading aliens all in their amiable style. Known as Ground Defense Force Mao Chan in English.
SNK Hardware
Handheld
Clear system with two clear pads in the Samurai Spirits theme with Haomaru representing this version. Alongside the clear look with the bonus pads are six Samurai Spirits titles to accompany the other thirty-four games. What a treat for SNK and 2D lovers – they will positively lap this up.
PS2
RPG
Mysterious MMORPG except that it isn’t online but just created to feel like it is with masses of players and emailed updates. And the sci fi feel is very cleverly done. The Hack story is based on Hackers into the main computer and the game features plenty of conspiracy and double – crossing that have seen the series snowball into an underground gaming phenomena.
PS2
RPG
An update of Kingdom Hearts II with extra battles, maps and events re-released in Japan for the English voice actors it features along with Japanese subtitles. Comes as a two disk set with the second disk featuring a remake of the GBA title Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories with again a few unexpected extras over the original in the cut scenes and voice acting. A smashing series that shows that big budget collaborations can bare succulent sweet fruit when in the right hands.
XBOX
Action
Known as ‘Wreckless’ in its Western carnation, gameplay involves driving missions working either as a cop or spy in order to bring down the Yakuza. If spying do your best to not mess up, thereby keeping all your digits intact. Combinines the look and feel of Crazy Taxi as drivers whizz around the city with pedestrians scattering out the way with the crash and smash gameplay of Chase HQ as drivers run the bad guys off the road. A good combination and a real hoot with tanks and dumpster available to add to the variety.
PS Vita
Simulation
A visual novel with a stunning visual look such is the Vita’s crisp, colourful palette. Sequel to Xblaze Code Embryo.
PS Vita
Simulation
Sets the high standards of the series with astounding graphics to this visual novel. Mystery goings on a plenty.

XBOX

Space-age style, dank, metallic dungeons reminiscent of Kileak the Blood back on the Playstation in terms of its setting. Players explore RPG style before tackling opponents in well-presented isometric way.
