Toaplan is a name that should be tatooed on the trigger finger of veteran shooter heads such is the debt the modern shmup owes the company. This is a very solid conversion by Taito of the arcade renegade, but also very solid in term of difficulty unapologetically coming from a pre-casual gamer era. A tough, old school teacher then, but always fair. Luckily being blown up doesn't make the ship lose its souped up weaponry. Never have smart bombs been so cherished. Quite a rarity on the PC Engine.
