Playstation / PS2
Controller
A very ergonomically snug pad for the PS2 taking inspiration from the elusive Saturn style that works a treat with beat em ups such as the many fighters its stable has produced. And its pure class on fighters.
Sega Saturn
Controller
Sankyo produce pachinko machines, so their controller accurately replicates the handle used in the arcades to control the speed of the steel balls that fly here, there and everywhere within the machine. A great collector curio and adds much to games for those fans of the hobby.
Dreamcast
Controller
The only way to play Pop N Music as the makers intended. Fiddly and frustrating at times on the joypad, this dedicated controller soon become intuitive and most importantly fun. A massive series in Japan but to really appreciate its many merits, it takes this controller.
Sega Saturn
Controller
Hori has some track record when it comes to bringing the game centre experience into the home and this sturdy contender brought out to complement Virtua Fighter 2 really feels the part. The usual high spec production values and sturdy finish make for a very pleasurable and finger cramp free joystick.
Sega Saturn
Controller
Designed for use with the AM2 cracker Virtual On with massive mecha trying to crush each other. Makes the game a real joy when you master the control of the double stick system. Chic Retro feel to the graphical overlay on the sticks top panel.
Sega Saturn
Controller
Compatible with the likes of Wing Arms, Soviet Strike, Black Fire. The Mission Stick brings the flight of fancy to such airbourne titles and really adds the extra dimension to the gameplay. If you thought Desert Strike got a bit hairy with a joypad, try using the Mission Stick to finish Soviet Strike. Sega once more shows its supreme love of its fan base in making this stick switchable between left and right sides. Bravo! Also has a turbo fire feature and thumb throttle.
Dreamcast
Accessory
Sadly the Dreamcast ran out of time before the merits of this fine three megapixel camera and webcam could be fully exploited. Still it remains a nice collectors item, even if it brings out a sigh as to what could have been. The headphones aren’t quite out of Space Channel, but still look fine (if not as good as Ulala’s.)
Super Famicom
Controller
A sound, Super Famicom, seven button joystick with auto fire features to make fight fans and jaded shmup veterans jump for joy. Ascii is a well respected controller manufacturer and this compact stick justifies its official license fully.
Miscellaneous Hardware
Console
The 3DO dream was a very brave one – allowing many manufacturers to produce hardware taking as much advantage of the multimedia aspect that was seen as the future of gaming and taking on the dominance of Sega and the Big N at the same time. And whilst the headlines screamed DOA and 3DOH! There were still some fine games for the system here seen in the slender lines of the Panasonic model.
Sega Saturn
Controller
Very solid production values in this licensed Hori crafted arcade stick with coin – op style button layout and turbo repeat dip switches. A real intuitive joy to behold on SF II and any fighting title with the buttons just where you need them.
PS2
Accessory
An upright stand for the older, chunkier model of PS2 that is adjustable to also fit a hard drive, but can be used equally fine without.
Sega Saturn
Controller
Spacious and well laid out with turbo feature bringing you closer to Sonic Team and AM2 than ever before.
Mega Drive
Accessory
A wonderous add on to the Mega Drive Mini in this Mega Adaptor which allowed owners of the proper, full release version (rather than this toy one) to play Master System (Mark 3) games on their Mega Drive. As such, it comes with eleven dummy Mark III carts and also a Sega My Card. But alas, this is just for fun.
PC Engine CD ROM / PC Engine Hu Card / PC Engine Super CD ROM
Memory Card
128k of memory to free up the systems internal memory and to be able to swap saved games around amongst fellow collectors. Has a battery low warning light in a nice touch.
Famicom Cart
Controller
Funky Famicom controller that works one handed, though perhaps Genki lacks a bit of dexterity and needs a bit more practise. Comfortable layout and a fine additional controller for the system.
Super Famicom
Controller
A one handed controller that works well in the right hand in Asciis unusual take on the Super Famicom controller. Shining Scorpion compatible.
Mega Drive
Controller
Sound controller from the fine up and coming Columbus Circle stable. Snug ergonomics and nice feel to the button press with snappy black and red contrasting colour scheme.
Playstation
Controller
A real work of ergonomic art, such is Hori’s achievement that it has hardly changed throughout the decades. A real must for fight fans of a certain vintage.
Sega Saturn
Cable
AV cable for the older and newer models of the Sega Saturn. Very versatile and from a stable with a good retro history.
Mega Drive
Cable
AV cable for the Mega Drive 2. Very versatile and from a stable with a good retro history.
Dreamcast
Accessory
Stylish Dreamcast keyboard. Great for the typing games. Includes handy wrist rest.
