Rainbow Islands Extra (Cart Only)

Never received a Western release and quite a rare title too. Seven themed islands must be conquered in order to get the gem from each. Adversaries range from insects and dragons to toys and robots, all colourfully illustrated in the series tradition. For the uninitiated rainbows can be fired to be used as platforms which crumble underfoot leaving dust. The dust kills an enemy character. A frantic feel is added to proceedings by the rising tide, harrying the player on their scramble to the top of the level whilst the frantic chip version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow bleats on. The 'extra' version is a more difficult remake. Subtitled The Story of Bubble Bobble 2.
