Genesis only release, whose value has increased with the series' popularity. Or should that be because most of the souped up next generation versions couldn't match the (whip) cracking gameplay on offer here? Two playable characters: whip wielding John Morris who sacrificed himself to kill Dracula in Bram Stoker's novel and Eric Lecarde who spears evil assailants and uses the spear to pole vault across platforms. Endings are different depending on which character you choose but a tour across Europe must be completed before you can think about end sequences. Very gruesome graphics in parts with fountains of blood but also some sparkling graphic effects such as reflections on the clearer water. Known in the West as Castlevania Bloodlines.
