PS4
				Shoot Em Up

There is a beauty in two players shooting the daylights out of all and sundry in tandem as the background gives a near 3D perception of depth with giant turrets and lunar landscapes. The soundtrack truly rocks: a very important factor in shoot em ups to keep the adrenalin pumping and the eyelids from blinking.
				PS4
				Side Scrolling Beat Em Up

Playable with Streets of Rage 1 or 2 soundtracks and plenty more nods to its retro roots, but doesn’t it look delightful with its moody settings capture the urban grit perfectly. Just hope players get the chance to appreciate the surrounds whilst swinging punches furiously.
				PS4
				Action

Square Enix takes on Metal Gear Solid with stealth the order of the day, such as tossing an object over the barricade to distract the guards. Equally the odd Molotov cocktail does the same job. Set in a wintry East with snow falling, the mission is to regain control through sabotage of the rogue Mechs taking over.
				Nintendo DS
				Action

Naruto charges around in his much loved way, never being far away from ninjas jumping out of the bamboo forest (at least the wolves had an excuse to be sniffing around the trees.) The combat is fast, suiting the pacing of the anime in this superb, delightfully drawn action RPG.
				Merchandise
				Merchandise

Hard to resist a Slime stamp using pixel style dots to spruce up any greeting card or even for use with home made wrapping paper.
				Figures
				Figure

Incredibly detailed and beautifully painted figure for those who want to pay homage to the Legend of Mana and its fantasy RPG theme. Japanese figures really do set the bar high with the incredible production values.
				Switch
				Shooter

Spiritual sequel to Genki fave Kikikaikai and full of the same bizarre cultural references that makes it seem like sheer madness, yet thankfully plays like a dream. One eyed and legged umbrellas await an opportunity to spring into action, kawaii little ghosts seek refuge from Super Mario World, Oni and long nosed goblins look on from the shadows under the gaze of Buddhist statues. And its great to be back.
				Nintendo Hardware
				Accessory

Sticker sheets with eyes and letters to customise Labo creations besides colourful tape.
				Sega Saturn
				Simulation

A visual novel with fine voice acting and plenty of anime humour in the emotional reactions of the Evangelion protagonists. Varied locales from vending machines, convenience stores, the school and train home.
				Mega Drive
				Shoot Em Up

Sega performed an admirable conversion of the Data East arcade original in 1990 to boost the software available for its 16Bit baby. Vertically scrolling, power ups make the ship mutate and morph into a more souped up beast.
				Figures
				Figure

Twisted Wonderland box, small booklet plus an even more wonderful Grimm mascot included as a bonus gift.
				Animal Crossing Figures
				Figure

Known as Master in Japan as he runs the local Roost coffee shop. Genki was over the moon to be offered pigeon milk and a sable. Some see him as aloof, but regulars will be taken under his wing.
				Animal Crossing Figures
				Figure

Resetti is often regarded as a mole on a mission. He’s not really angry – just keen to ensure the good folk of Crossing get a fair reward for their efforts digging fossils and catching sea bass by saving their progress.
				Animal Crossing Figures
				Figure

Known as Kappei in Japan, and also known as Kapp’n in the West, knows plenty of sea shanties as he crosses the oceans blue exploring new isles and inlets.
				Figures

Pop out 3D figure from Dragon Quest in this Derumurin Island version tribute to Dai no Bouken. The effect works very well to bring it to life.

				Super Famicom
				RPG

Truly epic and immense adventure that you know has the high Squaresoft assurance of quality from the very outset. With excellent characterisation thanks to the endeavours of Akira Toriyama of DragonBall Z fame and the input from the Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest producers add an extra A to this triple-A title. Aurally it delights too with Yasunori Mitsuda’s genius imprinted all over the soundtrack that is appropriate to each era.
				Super Famicom
				RPG

A delight from start to finish no matter how many times you savour its entwining story with luscious visuals and recapture the powerful emotions stirred by in game events with a moving musical score. Gameplay is nicely balanced between action and exploration with a solid array of weapons to power up and spells to cast. Best to put everything else on hold before entering this enchanting world. Japanese title Seiken Densetsu 2.
				Famicom Cart
				Action

Manoeuvre the cleverly designed levels nipping in and out of lifts and doors to get to the goal before the agents take you down. Classic retro video gaming.
				Famicom Cart
One on One Beat Em Up

Take on the deft of foot Oolong or the brute Chain in this grandmaster of martial arts antics. Gameplay is like a vintage port that only seems to improve with age. Hot fighting history indeed.
