Playstation
Simulation
Historical themed romantic adventure with language of the era and good manner to match too.
Playstation
Simulation
Plenty more goings on than meets the eye in terms of supernatural demons as the Japanese board game gets an exciting adventure as only a top developer could do.
Playstation
RPG
The Suikoken series is based on the Chinese classic Water Margin and is a highly regarded RPG amongst the cognoscenti. Full title: Genso Suikoden.
Playstation
Sports
Night time street racing bringing the mange to life. The dark tracks are realistically only illuminated by the cars headlights keeping the players one the edge of their (tiger effect covered) seats as it makes it hard to know what lies ahead. Also cleverly reduces the CPU workload making it whiz along on the PSX hardware.
Playstation
Shooter
ine interpretation of Ridley Scot’s dark, organic world full of aliens with acid for blood. Moves very well, but not as fast as Genki when one of those critters scurries after us.
PS2
Action
Its hard to avoid the cliche gothic splendour when sampling Capcom’s tribute to the darker side of life as players bask in moonlight diffracting through stain glass windows and the broad moonbeams formed in the dusty cathedrals. Yet little time for basking is permitted: the action is fast and relentless as the series really hits its straps.
Playstation
Rhythm
Sick moves, though those of a younger persuasion may disagree. Players have to be in tune with the tracks to match the rhythm of the button presses required or the needle on the record will start scratching badly.
Playstation
RPG
Stunningly illustrated sprites along with soothing soundtrack that can snap to contain more menace than the Flight of the Valkyries within an instant. Genki wonders how its possible to weave together so many different, deep characters.
Playstation
RPG
Twinbee takes its Opa Opa style ships on legs and spins them into a fine yarn in the 3D mode of many Playstation titles yet with plenty of spit and polish added by Konami. A fun side quest from the blaster action with plenty of gags and the usual colour of the brash and bold series.
Famicom Cart
RPG
Tidy, diminutive sprites that mean a screen fills the full map of that particular dungeon or maze. Definitely more of an action RPG with sword fights en route to grabbing key items with the chip tunes blasting out.
Famicom Cart
Platform
Old school platform action executed with a dab hand with a fine game engine masked by the cutesy sprites. Keep an eye out for guests from Rolling Thunder in the mini games that add variety to the platform hopping and bopping.
Famicom Cart
RPG
Old school first person dungeon exploration adventure with imaginative adversaries and chip tunes that crank up the tension.
Sony Hardware
Memory Card
Save game facility for the original Playstation in this under stated white finish.
Nintendo 64
Sports
Think Mario Kart but with plane-based levels as well as Nintendo entrusts Rare with its fine intellectual properties based on the Donkey Kong universe. The action itself odes not tax much cerebrally and its great fun to unleash a well-timed weapon.
Famicom Cart
Platform
Cat and mouse platform action as players traverse the platform levels with cat often right on your tail before dispatching them Itchy and Scratchy style with a rolling cannon ball or tactically placed bomb. The format was made for such titles.
Merchandise
Figure
Full colour manga book of the school girl pig plus special cover and figure on stand. A great gift set for the manga fan in your life.
Merchandise
Merchandise
A fine tribute to the series’ characters in this micro cloth that can be hung to show both sides to it like a giant poster. Only previously available as a Jamma arcade coin-op game centre prize, so strictly limited edition.

Famicom Cart
RPG
RPG action screens to grab a quick item before heading to the platform sections and boss showdowns. All set to that toe-tapping DragonBall theme tune. Known in Japan as Dragonball Shenron no Nazo.
Famicom Cart
Platform
Beautifully illustrated in the style of crayons, think Yoshi’s Island for the Famicom. The character sprites are all very cute and the tunes are upbeat in keeping with the action. The dino hero’s ability to roll adds to his versatility. A Japanese flavour to the action too with walking riceballs and cartoony squids.
Merchandise
Figure
A very kawaii version of Pikachu on safari that clips on to clothing or backpacks to take on that expedition or holiday.
