Sega Saturn
A Bit Special
A collectors item for fans of VF. Meet the mysterious ninja ‘Round Shadow’ as he kicks back and unwinds like all good ninja’s do: by belting out a few tunes at Karaoke. For ninja fans only (CH4 Games Central?) Owners of five or more of the series were rewarded with a special Dual disk.
Sega Saturn
A Bit Special
A collectors item for fans of VF: watch Jacky about town in his sports car, hussling the pool hall or prancing around with his Dalmatian! Owners of five or more of the series were rewarded with a special Dual disk.
Game Gear
Sports
Joe Montana was quite a player and few will have missed his charming scaled-down version of the Mega Drive title which was as popular as Genesis back in the 90s. Simple interface and good action with fun two player bouts make this the football game to recommend to fans of any shape of ball.
PC Engine FX
Simulation
Romance and adventure all set to a typical game music (like you get lift music, apart from game music) and an imperial, fantasy setting think Heroic Legend of Arslan anime. Ticks all the right boxes and a popular series that spanned onto the Saturn and Playstation.
Figures
Figure
Cutie collaboration bringing four femme fatales from Konami’s gaming catalogue into gashapon existence. Four figures to collect along with two mystery secrets for the collectors. This is the secret version of the star of the invigorating Rumble Roses wrestling game Reiko. Rumble Roses shall we just say did wonders for Xbox sales in its core demographic.

Super Famicom
Sports
This overhead perspective racing game tests your reflexes to the max. Rev heads will relish this SFC updates fast paced gameplay.
PS4
Action
Shooting from an over the shoulder perspective keeps Biohazard in the veil of an action title rather than first person shooter. And its beautifully done with the clever torch style lighting the gloom. A few too many creatures that look like rejects from Silent Hill for Genki’s liking. Still getting over those Dobermans of the Playstation original…
GameBoy Advance
RPG
Koei has done a fabulous job in miniaturising its Chinese Warring Period Sangoku series to the smaller screen with the smooth, silky interface working a treat in this fantasy RPG. The chip tunes are cheery and the pixelized characters are easy to get attached to, such is their fine design.
Nintendo 64
Sports
Konami includes all the ingredients required to make a masterful representation of the sport, just like the Bero Flour men characters in game would. You can almost smell the hot dogs and see the spilt popcorn as a home run gets hit.
Mega Drive
Sports
Ten pin bowling very well represented with the screen split into three: the bottom half showing the progress of the ball against the skittles and to line it up, the top two halves show the remaining skittles and the players avatar. This adds a good bit of emotion to the sport and the set up works very well.
Sega Saturn
Simulation
The course of true love certainly never runs smoothly in this dating adventure. Just be sure to choose your cake early as the developers won’t let you eat all the cakes.
Mega Drive
Shooter
Overhead perspective strategic action blast in which espionage is the order of the day as enemy bases are sabotaged with bombs placed in the correct position within the time limit. Ammo is limited but the emphasis is more on stealth as Konami’s more famous title implemented equally well with varied levels of guard AI. A two player cooperative mode is very cunningly implemented and much more enjoyable than many two player competitive modes.
Famicom Cart
Sports
Players get their daily fix of exercise by manoeuvring around the park trying to track down criminals and apprehnding them. Not as easy as it may sound when using your feet to control the action, but a great use fo the peripheral.
PC Engine HU Card
Sports
There is a nice retro feel to the grid in F1 Pilot making for a very accomplished Engine racer. Features world circuits including Brazil, Monaco, Mexico, France, Belgium, Italy, Great Britain and of course Japan.
Mega CD
Sports
Boxing game with FMV graphics that require players to bob and weave in order to avoid staring up at the referee too much from the canvas floor of the ring. Stylish video capture and nice presentation make for an enjoyable bout.
Famicom Cart
Platform
Unusual vertically scrolling shooter set on a background of ever changing coloured panels as players pummel opposing vessels to gain valuable dollars to spend on upgrading the ship and all important fuel. Unusual in the fact that players must keep scoring in order to keep the money coming in to progress.
Sega Saturn
Simulation
Enjoy some fine lift music for shogi as the lady very respectfully announces each move on the board reminding players of the sense of honour behind the game.
Dreamcast
Puzzle
One of the earlier releases for the DC bringing the classic Russian puzzler to the table for up to four players. Multiplayer madcap mayhem assured.
Playstation
A Bit Special
A compilation of Namcos highly treasured back catalogue with four titles in their original form and updated 3D incarnations. The four titles are: Babel, a tower adventure, Star Luster, an Elite style space blaster not quite as cerebral as the BBC Micros masterpiece, Wrestle Ball, a video game take on the cult film RollerBall meets the BitMap Bros Speedball and finally Haou no Tairiku, a strategic intervention into Dynastic China.
