RayStorm is a very solid vertical shooter with a sprinkling of polygon built ships, a dusting of translucency and liberal lashings of lasers yet the play mechanics remain firmly rooted in the old school. The graphical wizz bangs are not merely gimmicks though: a lock on system allows your ship to take down alien vessels as they approach on a different plane below the level you're fighting on. Renowned for its Zuntata techno tinged soundtrack with some spanking riffs adding much to the adrenalin fuelled, high octane gameplay.
