Soundtrack
Known as Zombie Nation in the West, this is a true Japan-centric classic made with its Nihon audience in mind and it revels in its cultural delight, much like this soundtrack that captures the devious nature of the classic Famicom game. Subtitled: ROM Cassette Disk In Meldac.
PS5
Shooter
Sequel to the superb Mega Drive and Super Famicom crackers, Leynos 2 features more exo skeleton related mayhem and maintains the clunky metal feel of the original as the suits are dropped behind enemy lines and straight into the thick of it. Ginormous bosses and relentless onslaught from enemy mechs makes this one tough exoskeleton to crack. A true delight to have it revamped for the PS5. Bravo!

Brilliant Switch
Shooter
Gamers of a certain vintage will be purring having lapped up the Cybernator action which sees the weighty mech feel every tonnage as it lands on the platforms and then utilises booster to jets to glide through the side scrolling shooter sections. Such a work of love with incredible attention to detail and another must-have Superdeluxe delivery for gamers who know their claret from their Beaujolais.

A lovely tribute to a long-standing series with plenty of devotees. Includes Atelier Marie Remake Art Book, Clear Card Set and Selection CD.
PS2
Sports
Billiards or pool done very well – the ball physics seem perfect, but alas you can’t bump the table to get the ball to drop in. Old school pool hall where you can almost smell the cigarette smoke hanging in the air alongside the inoffensive lift tunes.
PS2
Action
Superb combat stand this out from the crowd in futuristic, cavernous confines that bring to mind PSO. Go well in your mission.
Dreamcast
A Bit Special
For the completist only as the Dreamcast online servers are now down making this email and web server of curio value only. Though there is a nice looking Shenmue picture postcard amongst others available recommending itself to thr true Sega aficionado.
Sega Hardware
Controller
Stylish Dreamcast keyboard. Great for the typing games. Includes handy wrist rest.
PS4
Shoot Em Up
Another superb shmup release in the series with the human character used, as opposed to mechanical ship, adding much to the connection between player and intriguing character. It also seems to help create a greater sense of vertical depth. A real labour of love.

The fun, stunned expression of Cactuar captured in this delightful festival mask from the eternal Final Fantasy series.

The ancients from Final Fantasy XIV are reproduced with incredible attention to detail in the facial expression – a slightly concerning expression under the mask. Incredible production values to this high end collectable.

Fine art from Final Fantasy XIV in the slim shape of Venat. As you’d expect from Square Enix, the production values are incredibly high and this is high end video gaming art.

Fine battalion of Gundam mechs making a marvellous role call of gashapons when lined up together. A real treat for the discerning Gundam devotee.

Funky, fresh, fly-guy Hideki Naganuma shows off his talents in this cracking CD based on the X-Box incarnation. Perfectly suited to the gameplay, but equally stands alone as a fine compilation of modern Tokyo tunes.

Brilliant PS4
Shoot Em Up
Horizontal and vertically scrolling shooting action besides a bit of free style 360 blasting courtesy of the mecha suit levels. Looking just as lush as you would expect from one of the biggest licenses in gaming, the attention to graphical detail and avatar input is astounding and squeezes so much out of the system and Macross license.

Nintendo hasn’t forgotten its roots as a card manufacturer of the highest quality. Housed in a plastic box, the cards themselves are beautifully illustrated featuring all your Nintendo faves in a traditional Japanese setting. A real find for collectors.
PS4
Shoot Em Up
Despite some tidy 3D trickery, Psyvariar is a strictly 2D shooter with old school play mechanics. The array of options spoils shmup fans with tate vertical mode and two player option, besides dangerous play seemingly rewarded. Hard for an old school gamer like Genki to get our lengthening teeth into encouraging risk taking, but many modern minded gamers will be fine and flourish with the concept.
Dreamcast
Quiz
Large box limited edition with beautifully illustrated card sleeve with character cushion and four kawaii character stamps done in the style of a figurine plus inks. Also comes with Omake GD-ROM disk and full sticker sheet, plus Web Money card.
PS5
Shoot Em Up
Cult developer Beep is appropriately drawn to this distinctive looking shooter that harks back to the cel-shaded original for its inspiration. The look really makes it stand out from the crowd and will no-doubt be fondly recalled with those familiar with its predecessors. Sometimes spelt Radilgy.
PS2
Sports
Fits into the under populated water sports genre featuring dinghy and kayak rides through Canada, France, New Zealand… The water physics are incredible and the unique control method of rotating the dual shocks works a treat. The translucent water effect looks amazing and the bird song and scenery mean all that’s missing is the spray in the face. Known in the West as Wild Water Adrenaline.
Super Famicom
RPG
The final SFC Saga instalment develops Final Fantasy influenced sublime visuals with the series’ freedom to roam and select quests to deliver a highly accomplished example of the depth to Square’s RPG repertoire. The developer demonstrates a firm grasp of the Super Famicom’s architecture in realising a detailed gaming world with an aurally pleasing soundtrack to stir the emotions. Plenty of imagination has gone into the game world too with characters ranging from snowman to pirate via elephant and lobster.
🥇Game of the Week
Brilliant Mega Drive
Shoot Em Up
Going back to the halcyon era of the crack MD developer Wolf Team and re-releasing this 1992 space-based, side scrolling shoot em up.  Genki thought we had mis-spelled its Mega CD sister title Sol Feace all these years, but Sol Deace only made it to North America on cart form apparently. The chip tunes alone are something to behold and the waves of enemy swarms judged perfectly by the developers before the boss rush.

Brilliant Soundtracks
Soundtrack
Three vinyl record disks in a fitting tribute to the side scrolling beat ’em up’s fabulous score. Thirty five tracks to savour – the ultimate getting ready for a night out album, hopefully without recreating the fight scenes!
Figures
Figure
Incredible appearance to this fine figure that came with the PS5 version of Tekken 8. The attachable wing lights up to create a mean, moody representation of the series’ star Jin Kazama.
PS4
Shoot Em Up
A mouth watering compilation of Flying Shark, Sky Shark, Fire Shark and Wardner no Mori in various Famicom, Mega Drive and Arcade incarnations to savour. Fire Shark shows Toaplan in fine fettle with the player taking the controls of a fighter plane with some stupendously powerful weapons to pick up and power up including the gratifying flamethrower in this WWII airborne shooter. Brash, big sprites and nice attention to detail at ground level with soldiers running around and vehicles getting stuck and no hint of slowdown. Just watch the reverse, gunner. Wardner no Mori is no stranger to Mega Drive fans and adds nice variation in this solid platform game set in a spooky forest where the lead man shoots fire from his fingers to scythe through to a cinder the evil ghouls and demons lying in wait. Strangely compelling in spite of the coin op based, money grabbing difficulty requiring pixel perfect jumps.

Ultraman Tiga looking ace in action pose. Guaranteed to brighten up wherever it is set, especially for fans of the superhero series.

Desktop tribute to Ultraman coming in both Tiga and Trigger variations with light up eyes and colour timer to really bring them to life.
