Drags the Raiden series kicking and screaming into the 3D world of tracer making pyrotechnics, fog effects and various other special effects that demonstrate the PS2s processing pizzazz. In a nod to the series loyal followers there are a plethora of screen display options to keep the most tate dedicated Raiden guru happy. Yet the overall feel is a tribute to the very root of the series rather than the flourishing branches of later releases. The speed in which an enemy ship is dispatched boosts the score multiplier in a novel twist and there are a good chunk of unlockables to add to the overall challenge.
