Famicom Cart
Sports
Cheery chip-tunes accompany the slick, on-ice action with sound puck physics as it glides across the screen. The players are a good dimension to be able to enjoy a good game and try and avoid a dust up.

Brilliant Mega Drive
Action
The original cart is a rather rare side scrolling beat ’em up from Kemco with solid 2D visuals and gameplay that they don’t make quite like they used to. Each character has their own special move – the hand grenade can certainly have its use at times. Simultaneous two player mode adds to the enjoyment of this very playable romp.

One on One Beat Em Up
Finely tweaked version of the original in the first of many milkings of Capcom’s cash cow. New costumes and slightly better balance to the fighting mechanics as the SFII phenomena started to kick in. Subtitled Hyper Fighting.
PS3
One on One Beat Em Up
Keeps the 3D strictly to a pseudo effect and the gameplay is all the better for its slick, rolling combos as a result. The backdrops look stunning too – upgraded on the old school approach but still looking lavish.

Brilliant Soundtracks
Soundtrack
Three vinyl record disks in a fitting tribute to the side scrolling beat ’em up’s fabulous score. Thirty five tracks to savour – the ultimate getting ready for a night out album, hopefully without recreating the fight scenes!
Mega Drive
Platform
Excellent conversion by Sega of the fast action coin op legend without any cutbacks as with the Western versions, nor the scary box art. Flip from surface to air dicing opponents as you go. Captures the essence of the arcade perfectly.
Playstation
Shoot Em Up
Vertically scrolling tribute to the Capcom 194x series but still a refreshing change from the reoccurring outer space theme. Improved aurally and visually over the prequel, with little sign of any slowdown regardless of the relentlessness of the on going aerial assault. A competent conversion of the coin grabbing arcade.
Soundtracks
Soundtrack
Psyvariar, Cotton, and Metal Saga are amongst the stirring scores pressed on this live tribute to celebrate Success’s forty-fifth anniversary. A beautiful aural ride to tingle the spine and soar in the skies like a carpet ride (or should that be broomstick?)
Soundtracks
