Sprightly puzzle game where tiles must be rotated to clear the screen: much easier in practise than words. Adopts various styles to the game view be it the dynastic classical Chinese mahjong tiles, fantasy role playing medieval style or playing cards on the beach setting.
Sega Saturn
Simulation
Captures the market in sky scraper sims in one swoop as players build up their dream tower from the base up and get to add delightful extras such as the office, the noodle shop, the hamburger bar or even the bag section of a department store. Then the ambitious architect can sit back and enjoy the results like little computer people watching the good folk go about their business.
Sega Saturn
Simulation
Gets those French Fries laced with salt and watch the drink sales soar. Nothing too fried too close to the big roller coasters though as no one wants to see what their fellow park attendees have been having for lunch. Genre breaking title to treat gamers with an eye for the unusual.
PS2
Simulation
Lots of elevator style music, plenty of shots of blue skies and super sweet voice acting as D3 shows its form in the dating sim arena. Subtitled Sayonara no Mukoukawa.

Love adventure game aimed at ladies with saccharine sweet J-Pop soundtrack to match the boy band looks of the in game protagonists. Sadly doesn’t involve multiple trips on the Yamanote Japan Railways Line.
Sega Saturn
Simulation
Rather off kilter adventure with plenty of FMV sequences as you solve puzzles and gain necessary items such as oil for a rusty door to progress. Its not until the second disk that things start going a bit astray though. Impressive attention to the graphics from Sega. Known in the West as Lunacy. Full title ‘Gekka Mugentan Torico.’
XBOX

Playstation
Simulation

Dreamcast
Simulation
Saccharine sweet and that’s just the J-Pop opening tune before you have met the ladies that star in this school based romantic game.
PS2
Simulation
Probably not the best language tool to learn Japanese from, unless it’s a quite effeminate way of talking you are looking to master. It’s a tight-rope to walk to avoid upsetting the games mostly female protagonists and best of British with it!
PC Engine CD ROM
Simulation
Ataru seems destined for many ominous days as the priest Cherry often predicts. Caught between Lum and Shinobu and half the members of his school class (the female ones) only chaos can reign. Great digital comic game for fans of the very popular anime series.

PC Engine CD ROM
Simulation
Arcade mahjong game converted to the home system with mild RPG exploration elements and more bunny ears than the Playboy mansion.
PC Engine Super CD ROM
Simulation
Space based strategic battle simulator with tidy lift music whilst setting up troops and weapons, but more dramatic rock to crank up the tension once the battle commences, with dramatic avatars to back it up.
Dreamcast
Simulation
Serious looking machinery and gruffer looking blokes make up the into to this military simulation with the commands in English making it accessible for those who like to take their crack team behind enemy lines and follow the plan through to fruition.
Sega Saturn
Simulation
Battle mech against mech through various arenas as Sega’s in house programmers work wizardry using the Saturns 2D and 3D architecture. Not quite arcade perfect, but pushes the Saturn to the limits without going to far and causing slowdown.
Dreamcast
Simulation
Battle mech against mech through various arenas. Not quite on a of the same complexity as XBox Tekki, but true mastery requires a little bit of time to get to grips with the controls. But the rewards are a real delight once players can control the giant machines to lay waste to an opponent. Full screen play against a human opponent is possibly if you have the system link cable.
Sega Saturn
Simulation
Cyber adventure from the Hudson stable with definite Konami influence but also some bold strokes of its own in its Patlabor style robots from the hand of some of animes finest and a soundtrack to match. Add a suitable dash of paranoia and you have a highly accomplished adventure worthy of as much fan attention as anything from Hideos stable.
Sega Saturn
Simulation
Plays like a Jackie Chan film without the excessive fighting as players take the role of a Chinese detective on the trail of a murderer in downtown Hong Kong. Plenty of signs to set the scene and a great stereotyped chief with cigarette never too far from his moustached mouth. Plenty of friction between the player and his lovely assistant but its all in a good days work for Kowloon’s finest.
Switch
Simulation
Brings to life the incredible strategy game and the attention to detail is truly stunning. Such hard-work is demanded by the hardcore fans and the resulting warriors and weaponry ignite the screen as brightly as the flame thrower.
Dreamcast
Simulation
Life is never dull in the bright and breezy world of the Pia Carrot cafe with adorable staff with plenty to say.
Sega Saturn
Simulation
This RPG comes from the solid stable of ‘Guilty Gear’ producer Arc. Play in charge of a group of hard studying magicians.
PS Vita
Simulation
Sets the high standards of the series with astounding graphics to this visual novel. Mystery goings on a plenty.
