Full of Sega’s arcade prowess making it to the DC via the Model 2 arcade board with a few cosmetic enhancements. Multiple routes are possible but this is just like its Hollywood counterpart Die Hard in that action comes above all else.

Espion-age-nets involves various spying missions in which you must deploy your team tactfully to complete the mission. Difficult to pigeon hole with action, fighting and puzzle elements making this a stand out title. A clever use of the monitor sees your main character appear on the main screen with three mini update screens around it so you can see how the other team members are fairing and react accordingly. All done with stylised camera angles adding to the Orwellian feel.

Subtitled ‘The World of the Sacred Device.’ Evolution was the second RPG to appear on the system which makes its stunning polygon presentation and enchanting spell effects all the more outstanding.

Stunning 60 frames per second graphics on par with the coin op release, tight controls and, as the name would suggest, a real challenge to get to grips with demanding more and more from the driver to really push you to the limits. Sega has worked hard on the physics, handling, collisions and this realistic title pushes Gran Turismo right up against the guard rail with Yu Suzukifs expertise shining through like lens flare. Realistic too in the sense that braking is a must to progress, making for some slight initial teething but that is soon soothed away as you power slide to perfection.

Toilet obsessed title which looks like Goemon meeting a Mexican wrestler as participants in the board game use a slot machine wheel to determine their progress rather than a dice. Plenty of references to dropping the kids off at the school ensue in an intriguing insight into Japanese humour.

Complements the button bashing action of Virtua Athlete well with the official Olympic license giving it a bit more of a refined approach to the varying disciples next to its more down to earth arcade podium runner.

Whittle away a few peaceful hours on Lake Paradise trying to land a big bass renowned for their fighting ability. Tactical choice of lure is essential as you cajoule the bass to take the bait. Once you have a bite the line tension guage must be carefully monitored to stop the line from snapping. Arcade and DC original modes to select with the latter being far more forgiving than the arcade mode in which you must land sufficient weight within the time limit to you move on to the next stage. Failure to bag anything will leave you gutted.

The boat can be manoeuvred to a favoured spot on the lake adding an extra dimension to gameplay, particularly with the boat being equipped with a depth monitoring device. Spiritual healing for the urban oppressed.
