A bumper two in one pack. With Ray Crisis being an early PSX title there is the obligatory 2.5D take on the frantic finger firing blast fest. But it works quite well with only the true purists of the shooter scene protesting against it. The rest will be too spun out by the psychedelic visuals as the hopes of mankind takes on computer gone berserk. There are some suitably sublime transparency effects and the soundtrack is an absolute treat. Thankfully the hardened shmup vet will avoid the temptation of the unlimited continues for more suitable chastisement. And a suitable efficient player will soon unlock a bonus ship. RayStorm is a very solid vertical shooter with a sprinkling of polygon built ships, a dusting of translucency and liberal lashings of lasers yet the play mechanics remain firmly rooted in the old school. The graphical wizz bangs are not merely gimmicks though: a lock on system allows your ship to take down alien vessels as they approach on a different plane below the level your're fighting on. Renowned for its Zuntata techo tinged soundtrack with some spanking riffs adding much to the adrenalin fuelled, high octane gameplay.
Second hand. Shots from Ray Crisis. Comes with spine card, though it does have light impressions.
