For all its smart, spray painted, pre-rendered sprites and clever use of 3D back drops, Goemon thankfully remains true to his rich 2D heritage with delightful gameplay twists and turns through the ancient charms of Edo. Utilises the PSX's processing power very well but at the core the gameplay will bring a smile to any veteran of the series: especially with the added simultaneous two player option.
