Release to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Space Invader legend. Includes plenty of versions including a 3D remake. Other versions include a two player competitive version where you shoot at each other through the invaders and a two player co-operative version where you share three lives.

Utilises Fourthview technology allowing recordings to be made in 360 degrees so they can fit in all the members of this all girl band. MM are famed for their bold costumes as much as their girly music such as ‘Love Machine’. Plenty of material of the ever shifting band.

Running a space station is quite a complicated conundrum at times, so if feeling stressed, maybe head for the entertainment decks with its funfair and cat cafe? The bio deck is prone to the occasional extra terrestrial invader, but its all in a days work.

One on One Beat Em Up
Borrows the characters from Spectral Souls and Generations of Chaos to bring together some serious grudges all brought out to air with a plethora of speed lines, in game taunts and back chat. The engine seems to take its leave from Capcoms design school – certainly no shame in that – and as such comes in heavily recommended for fisticuff fans after a good hoe down. The PSP version admirably replicates the PS2 big brother with virtually no loading times.

A futuristic game of handball with cyborg suits and unforgiving metallic court as players get the steel ball down the far end to try and score by hook or by crook. Reminiscent of the cult movie classic Rollerball.

Recreates the thrill of the seventies Rollerball cult classic where heavily armoured players allow little to stand in their way in a sort of futuristic ice hockey. Throw into the mix some SNK Soccer Brawl armour and this update of the immensely popular Amiga original and the stage is set for some serious brawling on a par with the Cleveland Bombers. Part of the Worlds Greatest Hits Series.

Cracking platform action in the old skool style of the Spectrum titles such as Jet Set Willy or Manic Miner (or early Western platformers, if those references are too UK-centric.) Full of innovation and plenty of on screen room to manoeuvre.

Lovely, old school platformer which has some very vibrant colours and scaling making for plenty of on screen action. The gaming is varied too with much thought and planning appearing to have gone into level design. Well recommended.

Action
Much-loved Famicom game gets a multiplayer remake and it looks quite fabulous on the PS4. Yet fans who recall the original will also savour the Famicom version being included. Coveys the dank, dark cavernous nature of the levels beautifully with the lighting processing power. Safety hats off to Tozai for this labour of love.

Columns style match the falling blocks gameplay, but with a twist required to fit the shapes together adding an extra dimension to gameplay. Blocks become plants and animals on later levels to spice up the action. Comes with an extra GT mode to allow the handheld owners to link up for two player action.

Superb shooter where players get to customise a mean mecha robot instead of relying on power ups to blast bits out of the opposition. Like Assault Suits Valken on the SFC, fellow fighters will come to the players aid as the plot unfolds through the slickly produced cut sequences. Backgrounds are full of inspiration and very well executed with parallax scrolling to put many programmers to shame. A master blaster.

Players outwit their opponent spy using traps and various fun items in the game that introduced 80’s Britain to the fun of improper gameplay along with Skool Daze. A fine concept, beautifully executed.

Fast and frantic shooting action as the submarine drops bombs and launches torpedoes to try and keep on top of things. The speed the Famicom shifts the non screen action around impresses and the sprite based simplicity keeps the gameplay uncluttered and adds a visual charm. Plus the distinctive underwater locales keep this feeling as fresh as the school of angler fish awaiting.

Available exclusively to members of the Square Enix community and of course Genki, this compilation includes some of gamings finest scores that really send a tingle down the spine right to the tips of your toughened gaming fingertips. Very interesting results of Square focusing purely on the action RPG and platform gameplay of this title, without the CG graphics we have come to expect. The results are an incredibly playable title – a real joy to savour with plenty of humour. The bosses are skillfully crafted and the use of the clock to alter playing environments a clever touch.

Combat is particularly strong with development of a player’s skills possible through practise of the same techniques. A high degree of in game freedom to truly explore the fantasy world.
