Taking the characters from Madou Monogatari including an aubergine grape, a dancing fish and an SD skeleton, Compile released the Puyo Puyo phenomena so addictive it should only be on prescription. Like all the best puzzlers - easy to pick up, but refuses to let go. Some devastating combos are possible too - bound to test any friendship in two player mode. Puyo Puyo is at the pinnacle of its genre: sublime, fluid gameplay backed up with zany characters complete with ott celebrations that could only be made in Japan.
