Players get to choose from plenty of the hit anime’s colourful characters to savour the clever parallax scrolling on the wooded levels and cheerful chip tunes. And each character has plenty of mannerisms to further endear them to the player, such as a fear of falling when on a particularly tight, moving ledge.

Everyone’s favourite cat from the future flies through the platform levels using the bamboo helicopter and a little help from the human friend and boy next door Nobita on the roller coaster level which stands alongside standard platform levels and of course the underwater ones. Simple, primary colours and relatively simple gameplay make for a pleasant, if not too cerebral platforming romp.

Does justice to the weighty Doraemon license as the platform sections feature solid, colourful sprites and plenty of ducking and jumping attributes to further endear fans of the robot cat from the future. A few magic switches making platforms appear and more mystery surprises make for a top platforming package.

Reminiscent of Clockwork Knight in parts, Ganbare Goemon in others as Doraemon chucks an octopus and it flies out the screen in pixelated 3D. Playable as Nobita and Shizuka, besides our infamous, earless, robotic cat, there are fine platform action sections well-worthy of a second look.

An elementary school feel to the town exploration with toy shop as the role-playing action starts with droids, often transforming into the robot related adventure from the safety of the bedroom. A collectable for the GBA.
Famicom Cart

Everyone’s favourite robotic cat from the future explores the gaming world in a style reminiscent of Mother as the gang travel the lands and houses. His ‘Anywhere Portal’ certain could be of use as could the ‘Bamboo Helicopter’. Just beware of those ear nibbling mice when resting.
Super Famicom
Simulation
Falcom produced strategy war game which is a continuation of the Dragon Slayer series. Set in a cutesy, medieval Europe allowing the developer plenty of license for the fantasy setting.
Nintendo 64
RPG
The Doraemon world is perfectly suited to the N64s rotund graphical style and the Mario 64-esque world is true to the anime series with plenty of scrapes to get into.
Super Famicom
Simulation
A curio game that requires an adaptor to allow a Barcode Battler to be hooked up to the game to bring useful power points to fights. The gameplay itself is a traditional battle sim with plenty of super deformed robots needing bringing down to size.

Classic RPG action in the Falcom mould. Allows you to avoid multiple HP battles if you so desire. Some pretty cool townsfolk to chat with make this one of the better action RPGs on the Super Famicom, a real accolade.
GameBoy Color

Doraemon uses his wits to direct one of the on screen team such as old Nobita kun using the cursor to get him safely through the hazards and a step closer to rescuing Shizuka. A good test of reflexes as much as the grey matter and a fun game for even those unfamiliar with the robot cat’s charms.
Famicom Cart

Light puzzle elements, such as moving blocks across to make a set of spikes safe, in this platform conversion of a manga in the Doraemon mould. Nothing too taxing making for an enjoyable gaming experience with some bizarre goings on for those unfamiliar (and even familiar) with the source material.

Time travel as best buddies Nobita and adorable blue cat Doraemon zip through levels of vicious looking dinosaurs (well vicious in cuddly, anime style) and rival, robotic cats in the future. Known in Japanese as Doraemon 3 Nobita to Toki no Takaraou.

Keeps up the fine look of Disney tie in titles as Alice wanders along through a side scrolling adventure as players manipulate the on screen hand in order to aid her progress through the weird and wonderful world.
