Great 8 Bit game which keeps it simple, but heaps lashings of fine gameplay on those prepared to sample its action based levels. Players must get across the screen to collect the key. The secret is in blowing up the towers on the way to allow players to cross rivers, avoiding the projectile fire as you go.

Utilising the VB’s technology to the maximum as balls get pitched towards the batters face, sometimes coming a little too close for comfort inducing the odd, embarrassing finch. Pitching allows a variety of techniques to be used to catch the batter off guard including a fast pitch, a curved pitch or a forkball. Players are nicely represented in super deformed form. An enjoyable ballpark blitz.
Nintendo 64
Sports
System exclusive that uses expansively wide dirt tracks to be really able to savour a power slide. Good reflections of the clouds and skies on the car windscreen and a good level of roadside detail. Its ultimate selling point is probably the ability to be able to take short cuts: a much underused cheat for racing games.

Old and new clash as the honourable samurai travels into the future on a mission of vengeance allowing the developers to use the best of both worlds. In an interesting twist to the platform hack ’em up the samurai lead character loses his sword after taking a certain amount of damage. Full health is then restored, but the attack meter completely depleted and its only through defeating sufficient enemies with bare hands that it can be restored and the sword returned. Its also possible to summon various spiritual powers to help on your quest in another distinguishing feature.

Genki has whittled away many an hour playing Bombuzal. Sadly not so many hours are on offer to whittle away, but it it one of those games that could prove not all hours pass at the same rate. The reassuring lift music may help, but the crux of the action involves detonating all bombs on screen. Action can be viewed from an isometric or overhead viewpoint to ensure the detonation doesn’t take out the player too or that the crumbling path that can only be crossed once is the right order to proceedings.

That famous tune belts out on the chip set and stirs Superman into platform based action. Power ups are used to add to the hero’s special powers. But progress is hard when turned into the weaker Clark Kent, looking very much a salaryman.
Gamecube
Action
A chance to sample the delights of this theme park and its BackDraft, ET, WaterWorld, Jaws and Back to the Future rides through mini games. Theres also a small amount of trivia regarding Universal films. Throwing barrels at Jaws or getting ET home on time, what more could you ask for?
